At Medis' mathematics is viewed as a tool to support inquiry and provides a global language through which kids make sense of the world around them. Mathematics helps explain the why and how, and is a process of thinking. It promotes a deep understanding of mathematical principles and the use of trans-disciplinary themes ensures that connections with the real world are made.
Medis' has a set of program standards for Mathematics which are taught within a global framework. Our standards are drawn from the American National Curriculum.
We have decided to split a STEM program into 2. In this way we can provide a clearer and deeper understanding of different disciplines, focused on Logic and problem solving strategies.
The kids investigate mathematics and its application to the real world, through engineering processes. Medis' provides an authentic framework for exploring the eight mathematical practices.
